Dario Silvia born in Marsala on 23/05/83.

He begins his musical training course privately under the guidance of Maestro Leo Pavia. Later he joined the Antonio Scontrino Conservatory in Trapani, first obtaining the theory and solfeggio license, then the lower completion of Piano under the guidance of Maestro Paolo De Bartoli.

In 2006 he attended the “Brass Group” school in Palermo studying jazz piano with Maestro Diego Spitaleri and participating in the ensemble music lessons of Maestro Giuseppe Costa.

In 2012, he graduated in Music Disciplines at the University of Palermo with a thesis on Luigi Tenco.

Between 2015 and 2016 he continued his studies of jazz piano and improvisation techniques privately with Maestro Paolo Passalacqua.

In 2016 he recorded some studio takes for the album “Break in jazz” by trumpeter Aldo Bertolino in which there are musicians of national and international fame such as double bass player Marc Abrams, pianist Marcello Tonolo and drummer Enzo Augello.

For years he has been collaborating with a great Italian jazz guitarist, Maestro Michele Pantaleo with whom he recorded a record, between 2016 and 2017, entitled “In Blue” together with the Pickup Blues Band. With this formation he was in France for two concerts at the Festival du Tresques where the songs of In Blue and a tribute to John Scofield were presented. With Maestro Pantaleo he also collaborated for a concert dedicated to the great Wes Montgomery

Between 2017 and 2019 he was teacher of piano keyboards and synths at the Carpe Diem music school in Marsala.

In 2018 he won the call for student collaboration as an accompanist pianist for the Jazz and Pop classes at the Conservatory of Trapani.

Also in 2018 with the Elimi jazz Quintet, he participated in the National Arts Award, held in Naples and dedicated to Pino Daniele, reaching the final and receiving excellent reviews from the jury composed of Ares Tavolazzi, Paolo Raffone and Laurent Filipe. The following year with the Elimi he records a disc of unpublished jazz compositions entitled Next Stop which includes the composition Passage, a piece which contains the pianist’s vision of jazz

Both in 2019 and 2020 he participates in the International Jazz Day first with some friends of the conservatory and then with the Elimi Jazz Quintet

In 2019 he obtained the two-year specialization in Jazz Piano at the Conservatory of Trapani Antonio Scontrino with full marks and honors under the guidance of Maestro P. Passalacqua with a thesis on Bill Evans and Red Garland

In 2019 he was called, as keyboardist, to collaborate with the Sicilian Jazz Orchestra for a show on Burt Bacharach directed by Maestro Domenico Riina and with the soloists Giuseppe Milici (harmonica) and Lucy Garsia (vocals)

In 2019 he becomes the pianist of the Arco Big Band Orchestra conducted by Maestro Bettina Gandolfo for a tribute to the great Frank Sinatra which will culminate in the recording of a live album entitled My Way tribute to Frank Sinatra

He attends various Jazz and Pop Music Masterclasses including those with Dado Moroni, Indrikis Vietners, Manfred Blundl, ICP Orchestra (Michael Moore, Ab Baars, Tobias Delius, Thomas Heberer, Wolter Wierbos, Guus Janssen, Mary Oliver, Tristan Honsinger, Ernst Glerum , Han Bennink) Michele Papadia, Osvaldo Lo Jacono, Enzo Augello and as Collaborator Teacher for the masterclass of the trumpeter Aldo Bertolino.

In addition to jazz music, he collaborates, from an early age, as a session player in various pop, rock, funk, world ensembles and has undergone the studio recording of various music discs.

He is currently the pianist who follows the singer-songwriter Nico Gulino, with whom he participated in the Musicultura Festival in 2017, arriving among the eight winners of the competition and sharing the stage with nationally renowned artists (Ron, Giorgia, Vecchioni, Ruggieri, Cristicchi, ). With Gulino he also performed in Rai for the Buongiorno Regione program and is about to record some takes on his new album

He was several times session musician of the ethnic music project / World music I Musicanti by Gregorio Caimi with whom he performed numerous concerts, a video clip (Terra Madre) and a tribute to the singer-songwriter Fabrizio de Andrè together with the collaboration of the great voice of Antonella Ruggiero and under the supervision of her husband Roberto Colombo.

He has dealt several times with the musical direction of some shows for the singer Giulia Pugliese (The Voice of Italy).

He recorded for the album “Eight short stories” by the Marsalese singer-songwriter Pierpaolo Marino with whom he participated in various festivals (Nuove Impressioni, Rock the Casbah) and opened the Mario Venuti concert in Trapani in 2012.

Also for Pierpaolo Marino, in 2020, he recorded the second album entitled Senza control

He played the keyboards for a dvd / cd entitled “Krav Maga Prayer” by guitarist Vito Bertolino.

Since 2020 he is the pianist and keyboard player
